7 July 2008, 5.45pm was the time we were in the UMS, Kampung E cafeteria meeting with each other among UMS chung Ling people. What a memorial moment! As we can meet with junior, almost all the freshmen and had a session of sharing.
In this event, although was not formal but considered was an important time in the UMS Chung Ling Ex-students Club history as a lot of new things happened and announced in that 2 hours.
We started by introducing the seniors to the juniors. Then, Lip Fong was asking the Engineering School juniors who need the Set and he will help them by buying from seniors. Senior helping junior! What a caring senior!
I also introduced our UMS Chung Ling Blog to the students which is: UMS-ChungLing.blogspot.com. Inside the blog, we have a few postings from Jian Ming, generally expose what our club are and what activities we carried out before and a posting from Min Xian about rafting.
Besides, we the Club’s committee also introduced a new strategy to have financial support to run the club activities and gather the heart of Chung Ling people. This strategy was suggested by the seniors Boon Hoe and Lip Fong and on that evening they introduced and explained to all that present which mostly were 1st year juniors. The strategy was explained and will be known among the club members only. If you are a Chung Ling UMS student but still do not know the strategy, please ask from the juniors and some of the seniors.
Furthermore, we also applied a practice that we launched last semester but did not get the response from previous batch of Chung Ling senior. However, we dare to take the risk and let the practice reborn for the benefit of our juniors and the future of UMS Chung Ling Ex-students Club.The practice is we will have a Chung Ling Lunch on EVERY Friday, 12.00pm till 1.30pm, at D’Pustaka (café behind the library). We Chung Ling guys will gather around and share our experience, share our thought and most important share our time among Chung Ling people. The Chung Ling Lunch will be a success or a failure? We will know the answer by this Friday. Besides, Friday is a Chung Ling Uniform Day in UMS which we practice since last two years. Hence, if this Friday is a success then from this day onward we will have a great Friday, and a spectacular view which is a table that gather 20++ people wearing the same t-shirt from the same old secondary school.
Really happy to see all the junior so "semangat". I think the eager that our junior showed to us will be a force, an impact to the committee and the senior to gather back and have fun together! Riaht?!
