Episode 2: 40th Chung Ling World Carnival

Episode 2...

The week before the carnival, we, a group of twelve went to the Chung Ling Centre. We, the young people helped to pack the souvenir package which included bag, book, caps, clap and t-shirt. Just try to do the calculation yourself that with 700 sets need to be packed and with the content of souvenir book, cap, t-shirt, and the bag itself.

Here have some photoes that show the hard work of the Chung Ling guys.

I at that time cannot help them up as I need to be in the meeting with the Alumni to know the details about what is happening and will happen.

On the first of the carnival, 15 August 2008, Friday, me as in the early already need to meet the Public Relation Department officer to settle and confirm the tentative of Saturday morning session in UMS. Luckily, the alumni lend us two Iswara cars as our transportation, if not it will consume a lot of energy and time. With the cars, I drove to Counselori to meet the officer. Then the real things happened. 10.00am I meet a few people at SKTM 13 bus stop who were free to start help up. At that moment not many people were available as most of us still have class. So around 6 people that can help. So we went to the Chung Ling centre to help up. We helped up with the last minute packaging and putting in the name of the participant. We also are being guided to recognize the table arrangement which is by year of graduation of the Alumni. The most important we need to know where the gentlemen toilet and ladies toilet are. Besides, two of our first year medicine students, Wei Bin and Keong Tat, helped the alumni at the airport for a few hours.

Then the night of gathering started. We also had a lot more helpers as they had class till 5pm. So they came to help right after the class. The task that night was to serve the Alumni from all over the world and to sell some alcoholic drink to collect some fund for our club.

We had fun that night as the alumni were very supportive and they treat us very well.

They had their gathering with steamboat and we had our dinner with fried rice which tasted very delicious as we were very hungry. Our day ended with arranging them back their own hotel with the buses. The road there was so wide but still could not support so many huge buses. After sending them all back, we also sent our own people back by motors and cars. The first day seems ran smoothly.

to be continued.....
